If you want to enjoy the tranquility of the West Coast by the sea, but at the same time experience Bergen city, island hopping or culture and history, then Wærholmen is perfect.

Day trip to Bergen

By express boat 2.5h

From Lavik quay you can travel by boat to Bergen and experience the capital of Vestland in one day. The boat leaves Lavik at 09.20 in the morning, and returns from Bergen at 16.30. This gives you a full 4.5 hours in the city, and a wonderful journey along the coast.

Island hopping in Solund

Join the local mail boat on island hopping to Solund, Bulandet and Værlandet - a great round trip among the westernmost islands in Norway.

Visit Kvernsteinparken

In Hyllestad

Here you can explore one of Norway's oldest industries and see how millstones were carved since the 8th century, from the unique stone that is only found here at the far end of the Sognefjord.

Walk to Vetlebotntjørna

Hiking area 2.4 kilometers from Wærholmen

Not far from Wærholmen you will find Vetlebotntjørna, a great hiking area with a small lake. The hike takes about 1 hour, round trip.

Mountain hike to Laviksåta

Hiking area 5.5 kilometers from Wærholmen

From the popular hiking mountain Laviksåta you get spectacular views in all directions – over the Sognefjord, Lake Sogne and the western Norwegian coastline all the way out to the open ocean where the North Sea meets the Atlantic.
